Name: Victorian Bitter or VB

Style:bitter Lager

Origin:Melbourne Australia

Website:http://www.fosters.com.au/enjoy/beer/victoria_bitter.htm

Victorian Bitter:
Australia's favourite full strength beer, Victoria Bitter or VB as it's fondly known, has a tradition of rewarding hard work and hard play, dating back to the 1890s. Over the last 10 years, it's been a consistent winner in the esteemed Australian Liquor Industry Awards (ALIA), more recently picking up "Best Full Strength Beer" in 2001, "Tap Beer of the Year" in 2002, and "Best Full Strength Beer" again in 2003.

VB is a full flavoured brew, less malty in character and slightly darker than CUB's traditional lagers. A gentle fruitiness in the aroma complements the sweet malt on the mid-palate balancing perfectly with a robust, hop bitterness.

Style: full strength bitter lager
Alcohol: 4.9%
Carbs: 3.1 grams/100mL
Energy: 168 kilojoules/100mL; 40 calories/100mL
Standard drinks: 1.4 per 375mL, 3.1 per 800mL
Available: on tap, 250mL, 375mL and 800mL bottles and 375mL cans

Paulaner Hefe-Weibier

NAME: Paulaner

STYLE: Wheat Beer

ORIGON: Munich Germany

WEBSITE: www.paulaner.de

Paulaner Hefe-Weizen is the company's flagship style and brings the friendly, relaxed atmosphere of Munich's beer gardens to America. It is a classic Bavarian wheat beer. "Hefe" in German translates to yeast and "Weizen" (pronounced Vi-Zen) translates to wheat. Yeast retained in the beer is responsible for the cloudy appearance of Paulaner Hefe-Weizen. A centrifuge process is used with traditional wheat beers to retain the yeast instead of the typical filtering process used with beers that are clear in appearance. Paulaner Hefe-Weizen contains 60% malted wheat and 40% malted barley. Wheat beer was originated in the German state of Bavaria in the 15th century. In Bavaria today wheat beers represent almost 20% of the beer category and Paulaner is one of the fastest growing at an average rate of nearly 10% per year since 1995.* While the wheat beer segment in the U.S. is much smaller, the style is gaining more attention. The reason why isn't too hard to figure out – wheat beers offer an extremely refreshing taste. Paulaner Hefe-Weizen is refreshment made for relaxing with friends any time of the year.
